AQuAS: Health System Observatory Visualization Platform
Published:

This project was a strategic collaboration between the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) and the Catalan Agency for Health Quality and Evaluation (AQuAS) to transform complex health system indicators into browseable, user-friendly insights.
Key Contributions:
- Geospatial Analytics: Developed a geo-localized visualization system allowing users to relate diverse health indicators and assistance parameters across different regions.
- Temporal Tracking: Implemented features to monitor the progress of health outcomes over multiple years, facilitating trend analysis.
- User-Centric Design: Tailored the platform for medical professionals and specialized journalists, focusing on accessibility and intuitive data exploration.
- Big Data Integration: Leveraged the Life Sciences Department’s expertise in supercomputing and Big Data to process large-scale reports from the Results Central (Central de Resultats).
The initiative was part of the broader European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) framework, utilizing computer engineering to improve transparency and decision-making in public health.
